Heavy Equipment Technology
From tractor-trailers to off-road construction equipment, our 15-month Heavy Vehicle Technology diploma program prepares you for a career maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment.
Going beyond traditional Diesel mechanic school, you will study the systems that make machines move and the subsystems that allow them to pull, push, lift, crush, dig, and scrape.

Manufacturer Training Included
Earning manufacturer certifications while in school will make you more attractive to future employers. That’s why ATI includes training and certification opportunities from major manufacturers throughout our heavy vehicle program.
You will see manufacturer training from Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Kenworth, Navistar, Bendix, and Wix throughout your program.

Work on a Live Fleet
In most Diesel programs, students work on trucks that aren’t road worthy. At ATI, you will gain experience diagnosing and repairing issues on a live fleet of tractor-trailers used in ATI’s Commercial Driving programs.

Beyond Tractor-Trailers
Interested in off-road equipment? You will be exposed to systems that drive equipment used in agriculture and construction such as skid steers, fork lifts, and excavators.

Go Big With Liebherr
The Liebherr Group is one of the largest construction machine manufacturers in the world. ATI is Liebherr-America’s exclusive collegiate partner. Up to 6 Heavy Vehicle students are selected for this special program each year. In addition to working for Liebherr while in school, co-op students invited to join the company full-time after graduation are eligible for a signing bonus equal to 50% of ATI’s tuition.

Prepare To Lead
If leading others is part of your career plan, upgrade your Diploma to an Associate’s Degree with only 15 weeks of additional training. ATI’s Trades Leadership courses teach communication, computing, and critical thinking skills to better prepare you for supervisory roles.
